You may not be aware of this, but all of the staff at our movies and events are volunteers: concession stand workers, box office personnel, ticket takers, and even our House Managers are part of our dedicated volunteer staff.  These hardworking, energetic, and generous individuals donate their time and efforts in order to keep our Theatre going.

People from the community are encouraged to volunteer their time and efforts to support the Lions' Lincoln theatre and Fundraiser Campaign.   There are several different volunteer opportunities currently available for individuals to become involved:

 

Ticket Sellers / Ticket Takers (6:00 PM - 7:30 PM) - Ticket Sellers need to be mathematically articulate and be able to handle large sums of money.  Cash registers are provided and training is available if needed.  Ticket Takers will greet patrons and receive their ticket, tear it in half and return a portion to the customer.  Additionally they will answer questions and guide the customer to facilities in the theatre.

 

Concessions (6:00 PM - 8:15 PM) - Concession Volunteers need to be mathematically articulate and be able to handle large sums of money.  Cash registers are provided and training is available if needed.  Concession items need to be re-stocked for the next Volunteers.  Pop Machines will be re-stocked by the Shift Manager.
 
Ushers / Usherettes (6:00 PM - 7:30 PM) – Whether a former usher at the Lincoln, the ushers and usherettes will serve as hosts and hostesses to movie guests when entering the theatre.  They will help people find their way around the Lions' Lincoln Theatre Theatre during special events as well.  New Volunteers will learn more about the efforts the Massillon Lions Club made to renovate the Lincoln, the continuous improvements being made, and the entertainment opportunities and economic value and vitality it brings to our community.
 
Historians – Those interested in searching out more information about the Lions' Lincoln Theatre will work within the community to find artifacts and to possibly record “living histories” by people here in Massillon that grew up attending the movies and other events at the Lincoln.  Lillian Gish is just one of the notables that have fond memories of the Lincoln.
 
Marketing Committee – Will help the board and staff develop the special events and marketing strategies that will be used to support local schools and businesses and additionally promote the entertainment and classic film venues and then support the fundraising efforts to help pay off the Lincoln Theatre.  The committee’s work may include  direct mail, special events, public relations and web site development, .  Don Harwig, President of Massillon Main Street, is Chairman this of the Theatre Board.
 
Fundraising Committee – Those interested is seeking contributions, large and small, for this worthwhile campaign are encouraged to volunteer to solicit gifts, make appeals to civic clubs and other associations, and to serve as community ambassadors.  Jack Gorius, is the acting Chairman of this committee.
 
To volunteer, please send an e-mail to masslions@sssnet.com  and specify your area of interest.  You will receive an reply stating that the e-mail was received and your email address will be added to our database.  You will be notified via email when the first meeting is planned for your specific event. Additionally you may receive a phone call if you choose to provide it.
